So incredibly grateful for Jesus and the way His Iove for us is displayed in everything He did and continues to do. Who am I that He should care for me? He doesn’t even dignify that with an answer but instead silently walks to the cross, conquered death for us and is now sitting at the right hand of God... Ah! The Love of God is immeasurable! May we never forget! So encouraged by these families that helped me remember that today!
On Good Friday we remember the night that Jesus was betrayed, mocked, beaten, stripped, crucified and died a sinner’s death by humiliation. But Jesus saw it differently. He spoke to His disciples of the necessity of this horrible moment. The need for a perfect lamb to take away the sins of God’s people-once-and-for-all. This was God’s plan of reconciliation and recovery to make us clean, to give us His joy and His peace. It cost us nothing but the sorrow of our hearts for what our Savior had to endure. Personal Reflection: Consider a fast today (if it will not cause you medical harm) to remember what He has done for you and pray with confession asking the Lord to renew your heart and mind to be transfixed on Him and be transformed through Him.
The race we could have never ran... If the entrance to Jerusalem was Jesus stepping into the last stretch of His time here on earth then the night before his death- when he ate His last meal with His disciples and prayed in Gethsemane-this evening-is the turning point when he rounds the corner and fixes His eyes on home. Funny thing is that He is not running this race for himself, He is doing it for you. The endurance of pain, the will to keep going , the immovable focus to finish what His Father has started-no matter what-is for you and me- to bring us home. Can we just stop for a moment and remember? As you are tucked in to bed tonight, or not, thank Him for running a race that we could never run. Personal reflection : Are you willing to strive to keep your focus immovably on Jesus-no matter what?
Time for worship.
